Greetings!
Starving indie game developer here, working a part time job, almost paying my bills, hoping to one day make it big before my savings run out and I have to go back to the eternal hell that is a corporate salary job! I released my first video game Lord O' Pirates in 2025, which took about 2.5 years to develop. Based on how much money it's made so far and how much time I spent on it, I earned around $0.43 an hour, unless you count my artist's pay, in which case... well let's just not! So not bad? Currently considering moving somewhere where that's considered a decent living, open to ideas!
I plan to keep trying though, but from now on I am going to try and take way less time to fail, and fail faster as they say, until maybe one day I win. Until then it's gonna be a maximum of 2 months spent per project, cranking out prototypes until one just happens to vibe with a lot of people. I've got dreams for bigger games, but that'll have to wait until I'm an old man and all the kids hate the types of games I dream of making, at which point I'll just sit around grumbling about the good ol' days. Though honestly with all the live service, PTW, MTX nonsense these days, I might already be that old man :(
Anyways, buying my games or donating on the free ones will help me keep going longer, every dollar is appreciated! I also make music, check me out on Spotify or where ever you listen to music! My Space Cowboy concept album is pretty vibey:
Love & Peace,
One Flow Man
